SALARY: $39,000 to $54,964 per year (Pay Band 1) (Based on 37.5 hours per week)

JOB PURPOSE:

The Medical Education Administrative Coordinator plays a key role in the planning, coordinating, implementation and evaluation of training activities in the Upper River Valley Zone, in support of and adherence to the competencies, mission, values and goals of the organization and Universities. Acting with autonomy and initiative you will provide high level advice and information on administrative matters to the university, corporation, faculty and learners. The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Director Medical Education. Additionally the incumbent will provide a supportive and helpful environment for the Medical Education Learners in the Upper River Valley.

The position reports to the Regional Advisor, Medical Education, located in Saint John Zone. This position will be Tuesday, Wednesday full days and half day Thursdays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years related experience
  • Demonstrates the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral/written)
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Including Word, excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as attendance at meetings outside the normal work hours is required.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Excellent keyboarding skills
  • Works well independently as well as within a team environment
  • Positive, progressive attitude
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

COORDINATION and PLANNING
  • This postion advises and counsels Residents,Clinical Clerks, Directors, and Clinical Faculty on all non-clinical aspects of training and the following stakeholder policies, procedures and protocols.
  • This position will coordinate all aspects of the provision of accommodations for learners in the Upper River Valley. This including sourcing, cleaning, supply reconciliation, costing and procuring accommodations as per the contractual agreement for the learner.
  • This position coordinates workshops and special events including identification of speakers, coordination of publicitiy and community and preparation of summaries and resulting documents for faculty and learners.
  • In conjunction with the Medical Education Director, coordinates the faculty appointment process as per the Dalhousie Afflitation Agreement and Memorial University processes.
  • This position coordinates Medical Education committee meetings with the postgraduate site director including scheduling, minute taking and additional ad hoc requests.
REPRESENTATIVE/LIAISON
  • This position will be the liaison between Medical Education New Brunswick and Upper River Valley representing administrative matters.
