POSITION SUMMARY

Are you interested in becoming a part of an innovative in-house maintenance facility working on private aircraft? Flexjet, an award-winning organization, is currently looking for Apprentice Upholstery Technicians to join our team for a career-focused, "earn while you learn", on-the-job experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with: + Fabrication, repair, modification and refurbishment of aircraft seats, divans, sidewalls, and associated components
+ Re-upholstery of panels, liners, and sidewalls to high degrees of quality and safety
Learn to operate industrial, single, multi-needle sewing machines, sergers, overlocks, piping or binding machines Work with high-grade leather materials Interpret blueprints, drawings, and other illustrations or work instructions with some assistance Learn to plan, prepare, and cut materials to standardized patterns for stitching and fitting to specific requirements Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments Must support all company policies and safety programs to include Transport Canada regulations Communicate effectively with other personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise. Work in accordance with established safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment Present a clean and neat work area Help with general clean-up of work area. Demonstrate professionalism and deliver satisfaction to the internal/external customer Perform other related duties & responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent Solid verbal and written communication skills; Must be fluent in English, both spoken and written Strong working knowledge of Windows and MS Office programs Must have the ability to multi-task within a team environment Must be detail-oriented and well organized; demonstrate excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude Successful candidate will be highly motivated and work effectively under pressure and time constraints

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
