We are a small, production-focused upholstery shop looking to add an
upholstery assistant
with prior exposure to upholstery or a closely related trade. This is
not an entry-level role
and is not suitable for someone starting from scratch.
We are looking for someone who can become productive quickly and help keep work moving through the shop during busy periods.

Have
some upholstery experience
, or experience in a related trade (furniture manufacturing, automotive interiors, marine canvas, industrial sewing, cabinetry, or fabrication)
Are comfortable working in a shop environment with tools, fabrics, and foam
Can follow established processes and quality standards

with variable hours that reflect seasonal demand
Understand that trade work often fluctuates throughout the year
Responsibilities
Furniture and seating disassembly and reassembly
Installing webbing, decking, and foam
Measuring, cutting, and installing fabric, vinyl, or leather
Stapling panels and assisting with assembly
Operating industrial sewing machines for basic to intermediate tasks
Maintaining quality, consistency, and efficiency on assigned tasks
Work will focus on
repeatable, production-oriented tasks
, with opportunities to take on more responsibility as skills develop.

Busy season (Spring, Summer, Fall):
Full-time hours are typically available, especially for someone with enough experience to work productively and independently.
Slow season (December-January):
Hours are reduced to part-time, and there may be limited or no work during the slowest period of the year.
This role is best suited to someone who:
Understands seasonal fluctuations in trade work
Is comfortable with variable hours across the year
May have other income, flexible scheduling needs, or prefers a non-traditional work structure during slower months
Requirements
Demonstrated hands-on experience
in upholstery or a closely related field
Ability to work accurately with tools and measurements
Strong attention to detail and workmanship
Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude
Ability to work independently once trained on assigned tasks
Compensation & Growth
$18-$22/hour
, based on experience and demonstrated ability
