Are you a Previs Artist with prior experience working in Unreal Engine? We are looking for you to join our team on one of our exciting new Unreal projects!



Atomic Cartoons Inc. is an award-winning animation studio with locations in Vancouver's Mt. Pleasant Animation District, Ottawa's Hintonburg neighborhood and Los Angeles. Since its inception over 25 years ago, Atomic Cartoons has created and produced numerous 2D and CG animation productions including Super Team Canada, Princess Power and Last Kids on Earth. Atomic is well known for its artist-friendly culture and flexible work environment. We are always looking for artists of all levels to join our team!



WHAT YOU WILL DO:




Use Boards, Scripts or director briefs to create and compile 3d sequences and animatics in Unreal Engine. Create basic assets in Unreal Engine. Make decisions regarding camera placement and staging, lenses, and framing to support the narrative and create dynamic sequences. Provide basic animation for characters and assets to guide story and framing. Perform live reviews in Unreal Engine with key stakeholders. Work collaboratively while taking and implementing direction and feedback from the Supervisor and/or Director. Deliver timely, high-quality results while adhering to production pipelines and schedules. Be updated and familiar with new related and relevant technologies.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:




Prior working experience on projects in Unreal as a Previs Artist. A strong grasp of cinematography principles, composition, and aspect ratios. Strong Understanding of composition, staging, and camera movement. Excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal, written, and e-social communication skills. Knowledge of the episodic animation production pipeline is an asset. Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.

START DATE:

October 2025



Applicants must have resided within BC as of December 31, 2024 and be able to provide the appropriate supporting documents. All Atomic employees in this role have the opportunity to work remotely within BC, artists within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland can also choose hybrid and in-studio options.
