Qualifications:

Grade 12 graduate or equivalent required

Skill, Ability and Experience:

At least 5 years of relevant maintenance / repair experience in an institutional or commercial building environment required Strong knowledge of and experience with refrigerator and ice machine maintenance preferred Strong skills and experience with repairs of: doors, locks, hardware, shelving and floor repair required Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with surface preparation, paints, wall coverings etc. required Strong ability to operate hand and power tools required Good communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and organizational skills required Ability to work independently and as part of a team required Personal transportation to provide service response for all Bluewater Health sites required Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to: Preventative Maintenance, Customer Service and Quality Improvement required

Principal Duties:

Address and complete Work Orders for repairs to: building furnishings, walls, ceilings, equipment, and floors Maintain good communication with hospital staff in order to determine repairs and work required Report findings to Manager through work reporting system Clean tools and shop Observe and practice all safety rules and regulations associated with the Hospital environment Participation in building a culture of safety and partnering with peers to improve the safety of patient care processes and systems Performs other duties as required or assigned.
