Description:
NLC requires a sessional instructor to teach one section of POLI 100: Politics and Government. This position consists of 45 student contact hours plus 51 preparation hours for a contract of up to 96 hours. The delivery model is face to face on the Dawson Creek campus with the possibility of online delivery as needed. POLI 100: Politics and Government is a required or elective course in University Arts and Sciences and Related programs. This course also transfers to other post-secondary institutions as per the BC Transfer Guide. Delivery of fall courses begins on Sept 6th and continues until December 23rd, with final exams scheduled between Dec 6th to 16th. Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of a Masters' Degree in Political Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to student motivation and success; and the
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member through collaborative approaches to course pedagogy.
Preferred:
  • PhD in Political Science.
  • One North American post-secondary degree, preferably the terminal degree.
  • The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
  • Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
