The Unit Manager performs a leadership role and is responsible and accountable for the day to day clinical and operational needs of multiple ambulatory care clinics in Women's Health program for the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, Royal Alexandra Hospital. The position reports directly to the Patient Care Manager and is responsible for providing team leadership and organization over the activities in ambulatory care in support of the Vision, Mission and Values of Alberta Health Services. The Unit Manager will be working in close partnership with their manager and is accountable for the delivery of high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family-centered care. The Unit Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders who include patients, families, staff, and physicians across the RAH site and within the Edmonton Zone.
Description:
The Unit Manager is responsible for the daily operation and supervision of professional nursing practice and support staff in the Women's Health Ambulatory Clinics. In conjunction with the Patient Care Manager, the Unit Manager participates in budget planning; implementing and maintaining standards of practice; hiring, supervising and evaluating professional and support staff; and implementing changes to structure, processes and procedures in order to achieve improved outcomes in patient satisfaction, quality care and resource utilization.
