With a state-of-the-art cancer care facility, increased bed capacity, and a robust referral center, the GPRH will become an important health hub for northwest Alberta. The GPRH NICU is the only NICU north of the Edmonton area and consists of a 21 care spaces. As a Level 2 NICU, we provide care for neonates born at 32 weeks\' gestation and up to 28 days of age. The Pediatric Unit cares for patients up to 18 years of age, with medical, surgical and psychiatric illnesses. The Obstetrics Unit consists of an OB triage area, Labor and delivery suite and postpartum area. You will be working closely with an interdisciplinary team including Respiratory Therapists, Registered Dieticians, Pediatricians & Lactation consultants. As a unit clerk you will require strong communication skills, both verbal and written as well as a diploma from a recognized training institution as a unit clerk or medical transcriptionist. AHS offers a competitive rate of pay and currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description:As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
