Join the team and Northern Lights Regional Health Centre, as a Unit Clerk on the Maternity Unit and play a vital role in managing information flow while supporting hospital staff and physicians. You will also provide support to the Pediatric unit as needed. You will be the glue for the team in the unit as you practice the AHS CARES values working with the multidisciplinary team. Your strong computer skills are used coordinating patient tests, treatments, managing admissions, discharges, and transportation. Detail to accuracy and timelines is required as you ensure all paperwork is complete. Additionally, you'll greet visitors, handle calls, and facilitate communication within the unit. Clerical duties include scheduling and registering patients for NST clinic; registering newborns; answering phones; communicating with staff, physicians and families; pulling stats as required and other duties. Strong ability to pivot from task to task, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Healthcare experience is a plus but not required. Located in beautiful Fort McMurray which resides on Treaty 8 territory and on the traditional lands of the Metis. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
