We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Unit Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide clerical, administrative and receptionist support to the nursing unit. Scheduling, managing admissions/discharges and transfers of residents on convergence. Assist with care conference scheduling, taking notes and follow up for care conferences.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reception
Maintain a neat and organized work area
Prompt, courteous and confidential telephone communication, and when dealing with resident and staff information
Direct all resident and family concerns to the nurse
Charts, records and worksheets
Prepares and sends out requisitions as needed and maintains accurate records
File residents clinical records
Assembles residents clinical records for admissions, discharges and transfers
Administrative
File reports and consults as needed
Assist in maintaining manuals in accurate and up to date manner
Maintain staff scheduling and schedule replacements for call ins and leaves
Accurately record all changes to schedule
Ensure assignment sheets are complete and ready for staff
Accurately maintain admissions, discharges and transfers on convergence
Prepare documents for medical appointments and transfers as directed by the nurse
Prepare and submit quarterly and annual MDS assessments
Update resident data base as needed
Admissions
Ensure simultaneous flow with the move in process
Explain homes move in policies
Coordinates move in and discharge process including CPAS, families, and other care facilities, internal departments, paperwork and move in packages
Resident Support and Care
Assist with feeding residents if time permits when there is need, depending on demands of tasks at hand
Move and arrange residents files in relation to in house transfers
Education and Training
Participate in orientation of new staff
Participate in staff meetings as indicated
Attend educational sessions as appropriate and approved by DOC
General
Acknowledge and support the mission and Values of MNH
Follow safe work practices and report incidences as per MNH policy
Report unsafe conditions or maintenance concerns
Adhere to MNH policy and procedure manuals including emergency procedures
Preform other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse, Resident Care Coordinator, or DOC
Experience
2 years' experience in an office environment is desirable
Experience with scheduling desirable
Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with staff, clients and their families.

Pay: $20.78-$22.24 per hour
