About the Opportunity


Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Unit Aide assists nursing staff in the care of patients and family. Restocking of supplies and assisting with the transport of patients to and from diagnostic tests or to Medical/Surgical Units are functions of this position. They work cooperatively and effectively with all members of the nursing team. The Unit Aide completes their work under the direction of nursing staff.

About You

  • Grade XII
  • Recent related experience in a health care setting as asset
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail
  • Ability to work in busy area and to adapt to frequent interruption in activities
  • Tactfulness and diplomacy in dealing with patients, visitors and co-workers
  • Maintains confidential information
  • Demonstrated accountability, collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Excellent judgment, decision making, communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly committed to customer service, continuous improvement and innovation
  • Proven planning, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours


  • Permanent, Part-Time (50%) position; 37.5 hours biweekly

Compensation and Incentives


$19.23 - $20.80 Hourly
