Responsibilities:
Perform abrasive blasting to remove rust, paint, and other contaminants from metal surfaces & other forms of substrates.
Apply industrial coatings using spray, brush, or roller methods according to specifications.
Inspect surfaces and finished work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Operate and maintain sandblasting and painting equipment.
Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and confined space procedures.
Work collaboratively with other trades and team members in a unionized environment.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Participate in on-the-job training and safety courses provided, where applicable.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
No prior experience required; training will be provided by the Local Union.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Physical ability to perform tasks that require heavy lifting, climbing, working at heights, and confined spaces.
Basic understanding of safety protocols (on-the-job training to be provided).
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Reliable transportation to various job sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in industrial sandblasting and painting is considered an asset.
Familiarity with surface preparation standards (e.g., SSPC/NACE) is considered an asset.
Basic understanding of construction principles.
Experience in manual labour or outdoor work.
