The Underwriting team at Manulife is looking for creative, passionate individuals who are obsessed with customer satisfaction to join our world-class underwriting team. The individual life insurance underwriter has the privilege of working with various distribution channels, including national accounts, general agents, and advisors.Position Responsibilities:Conduct risk assessment and classification in accordance with Manulife\'s philosophy and standards.Communicate and collaborate with sales colleagues and head office to provide the highest quality and competitive decisions to our clients.Maintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external partners.Consistently deliver the best customer experience by making every interaction meaningfulComply with consumer laws and regulations regarding risk classification, confidentiality, and disclosure.Identify and propose solutions to problems and procedures related to the underwriter\'s work.Promote an atmosphere of trust with all clients to facilitate the acceptance of decisions.Required Qualifications:You are continuously learning \xe2\x80\x93 currently enrolled or very interested in insurance-related courses such as LOMA and/or ALU courses.Demonstrated professional experience as underwriter, at least 5 years of experience.Approval limit of at least $5,000,000 in life insurance and $250,000 in critical illness insuranceBe on the lookout for trends and changes in medicine, knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, diseases, tests, and modes of treatment.General awareness of current events, industry issues and trendsExcellent analytical skills with the ability to define, research and solve problems.Excellent mentoring skillsExemplary customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication skillsPutting our customers first.
