If you want to actively contribute to the transformation of the commercial insurance sector within a fast-growing company, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Underwriting Assistant. This entry-level position focuses on providing administrative and operational support to underwriters.
In this role, you will report to the Team Leader - Underwriting Support, you will gain a solid foundation in underwriting practices while contributing to the team's efficiency.
Main Responsibilities
Prepare standard insurance documents using templates and underwriter guidelines.
Enter and update data in Guidewire or other systems.
Organize and maintain digital underwriting files.
Respond to routine broker inquiries and escalate more complex cases.
Assist in gathering underwriting information for submissions.
Support compliance efforts by ensuring accurate documentation.
Profile
0 to 1 year experience in administration or insurance
Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Bilingual (English/French) to support underwriters and brokers across Canada, orally and in writing, an asset
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively
Adaptable and proactive
Autonomous with a strong sense of responsibility
