About the role




We’re looking for Personal Lines Underwriters from various levels to join our growing team! The positions we have available are Underwriter I, Underwriter II & Senior Underwriter.

As a Personal Lines Underwriter in our Intact Group department, your work will have a big impact on the success of our business. You will be responsible for underwriting home and auto risks and making decisions everyday that contribute to profitable growth. You will be customer-focused in everything you do, building and maintaining positive relationships with our distribution networks and brokers. Make recommendations to improve efficiencies to enhance the team and customer experience. Here are a few ways you'll make a difference:

• Strong emphasis on building relationships with Brokers and supporting broker development
• Analyze insurance submissions and recommend innovative solutions
• Act with discipline and drive to outperform
• Embrace change, improve every day and set high standards
• Deliver second-to-none experiences while helping others

Qualifications




What you bring to the table:

• You must have a minimum 1-5 years of Personal Lines underwriting experience
• Strong negotiating skills and with business and technical savvy
• Sales and customer service experience
• Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
• Demonstrates leadership, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Self driven and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Enrolment in CIP Program and actively pursuing designation.
• University degree/college diploma or equivalent work experience
• Willing to travel to broker’s offices as required, in possession of a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
