Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Underwriter to join our team. The Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and determining the eligibility of loan applications based on established guidelines and risk assessment. Duties

- Analyze financial documents and credit reports to assess the risk of potential borrowers

- Review loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness

- Determine the creditworthiness of applicants by evaluating their financial history and credit score

- Ensure compliance with company policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements

- Communicate decisions effectively to loan officers, processors, and applicants

- Provide recommendations for loan approvals or denials based on risk assessment

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

- Proven experience as an Underwriter or similar role in the financial industry

- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

- Knowledge of underwriting principles, practices, and regulations

- Excellent communication and decision-making abilities

- Certification in Mortgage Underwriting is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
