Underground Welder

Currently, we are seeking qualified and motivated Welders to join our growing team in Sudbury, Ontario. The individuals selected for these positions will be assigned to an underground construction crew and will be required to provide welding support for all underground construction activities all while assisting with alll other aspects of underground construction. Individuals will be required to work according to work procedures and company policies and ensuring efficient operations within a safety conscious environment. The key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Fabricate and weld structural steel for various underground construciton projects including installation of ventilation walls, overhead cranes, grizzlies, chutes, liner plates, etc.
• Assist to build form work, install rebar, and place concrete for the various underground construction projects
• Installation of various mechanical equipment \xe2\x80\x93 overhead cranes, gates, hydraulics, etc.
• Operate underground mobile equipment such as forklifts, scissor trucks and utility vehicles
• Inspecting work headings and construction for compliance to code, regulations, and standards and reporting any deficiencies or unsafe condition

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous CWB all position welding qualifications/experience is required.
• Expired CWB tickets can be recertified upon successful hire if required.
• Service Type or Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core is considered an asset.
• Specialty module U0086 or previous underground construction experience is considered an asset.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years welding/construction experience
• Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
• Must be willing to work at any of the underground mine sites that Technica operates at
• Candidates must undergo pre-employment testing as a condition of employment
