Fly-in/Fly-out role based in Lac de Gras, NT
About the role
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.
Reporting to the Superintendent, Integrated Mine Planning, located at Lac de Gras Mine Site, you will work 12 hours per shift on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotational schedule. You will be responsible for:
Surveying and markups for underground development and production headings
Creation of survey and drive layouts, and drafting
Surveying of geotechnical monitoring instrumentation
Month end surveys for underground development and surface stockpiles
Periodic surveying on surface
Maintenance of survey equipment
Flying drones for photography, 3D photogrammetry, and LiDAR scanning
Other duties as required
What youll bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Surveying or Mine Technician degree or diploma
2+ years in underground mine surveying
Experience with total stations and GPS
Experience using Vulcan software preferred
Experience flying drones preferred
Northern residency and experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the North, are assets. Hiring priority will be given to qualified applicants who are beneficiaries of the DDMI Participation Agreement Groups and to qualified applicants residing in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut Territories.
