Project Details:

Based at Giant Mine Remediation project in Yellowknife, NT, this will be a 2 week on / 2 week off rotation opportunity.

Responsibilities:

The successful underground Miners will be is responsible and accountable for the following:

• Follow all policies and processes at the mine site and underground
• Perform the role safely and ensures Health & Safety is the number one priority
• Installing underground rock support (bolts and mesh) using a jackleg & stoper;
• Installing mine services;
• Operating various pieces of underground mining equipment;
• Performing underground construction related work;
• Becoming an active member of the mine rescue team;

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years working full-time in an underground mine environment;
• Experienced in installation of ground support using a jackleg & stoper
• Experience operating scooptrams, scissorlifts, and other underground equipment;
• Shotcrete/concrete/construction experience would be considered an asset;
• Slinging / rigging experience would be considered an asset;
• Must be prepared to adhere to all legislated regulations and company Health & Safety policies;
• Fully Vaccinated
• Preference will be given to Residents in the Northwest Territories (NT)

Should this this position involve frequent air travel to and from the work site. Applicants must meet all legislated requirements for air travel to work and work a schedule of 14 days on site and 14 days off site. For this safety sensitive position, you will be required to undergo a background check, substance test and medical.
