We are currently accepting applications for Underground Miners to be responsible for all activities associated with production mining.

Reporting to the Underground Supervisor - Diavik Diamonds, this position will be based at the Lac De Gras mine site and will be working on a two-weeks on and two-weeks off (alternating night shift and day shift) rotational schedule on a 12 hours per shift day.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • Operating underground mobile equipment and heavy equipment such as haul truck, scoop tram, Integrated Tool carrier (IT).
  • Long-hole production drilling.
  • Conducting guarding, blasting, checking and cleaning drilled blast holes.
  • Recognizing loose and/or abnormal ground conditions or faulty ground support.
  • Installing, maintaining and inspecting ventilation, hand and power tools, fire extinguishers, air, water and drain lines.
  • Performing basic maintenance on operating equipment (pre-start checks, refueling, lube fill, washing down);
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License.
  • Minimum 3 years of Underground Mining Experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with three or more functional areas typically associated with underground mining.
  • Proven ability to operate a range of underground equipment safely and productively.
  • Blasting certification is an asset.
  • Solid proficiency in reading and understanding manuals and written instructions.
  • Ability to learn and understand technical procedures and information quickly.
  • Ability to work in high stress situations and resolve issues.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team.
