Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the Underground labourer will handle the supply of material on surface and to various underground locations using various types of boomtrucks and forklifts. When required he/she will also assist the mining crews with various underground tasks such as scaling, offsiding, and the installation of services and related construction tasks, which will provide additional on-the-job training and career advancement opportunities.



Load and unload construction materials, shotcrete, bolting gear and move materials to work areas Operating surface loader, Stocking yard of consumables Assist miners in excavating and in setting up and operating various jumbos and other mining machinery Organize development and construction storages Inventory of pipe storages Setup pumps The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment Following Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work. Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet. Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area.

Education and Work Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred) Ontario Hard Rock Underground Common Core - Full Basic (or other provincial equivalent) (preferred) Basic literacy (read, write, basic math) required

Demonstrated ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining. Ability to multi task and work effectively Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently Ability to work in hot environments * Respectful of cultural differences
