POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Eagle River Underground Mine Foreman or designate, the Underground Ore and Waste Haulage Operator is responsible for performing ore and waste material haulage in a safe and efficient manner. The successful candidate is expected to work well within a team to maintain a safe and productive work environment, in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountabilities and duties will include but not limited to the following:
Perform pre-operational vehicle inspections, complete the operator's card, service equipment cards, and report any defective equipment to the supervisor.
Ensure work areas are scaled appropriately for safety.
Verify adequate ventilation in the workplace and adhere to ventilation requirements.
Communicate clearly with coworkers to confirm the materials being hauled (ore or waste).
Take ore samples with each truckload and complete the appropriate sample tags.
Report equipment location and operational status to the supervisor at the end of the shift.
Complete other job-related modules as necessary.
Other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS- Education, Experience, Certifications
Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma.
Experience in underground haulage operations is required.
Possession of relevant Ontario common core modules is necessary.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Valid (G) Driver's License is required.
Other relevant modules related to the position are an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a camp position working a rotation of 10 days on/10 days off, followed by 11 days on/11 days off, with 10-hour shifts.
+ Work may be required outside of regular hours, as per business needs;
+ The physical requirements of this position include reading, walking, standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, repetitive motions, stooping, balancing, pushing, pulling and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
