Reporting to the Manager, the successful candidate will organize and perform the ultrasound examinations and Ultrasound guided procedures in a team environment; Maintain and document high quality images and technologist notes during the course of duties; Actively participate in the implementation of strategies aimed at improving operational efficiency and effectiveness of the ultrasound service; With special focus on delivering optimal patient centered care, provide effective communication with clinical teams, patients and family; Part of a clinical team, work effectively with nurse, physicians, and other health care professionals.
You will be required to work at all SHN hospital locations.
Requirements:
Successful completion of an established and accredited ultrasound program
Minimum of current 2 years of hospital experience
Current membership with CMRITO in good standing with MRT(DMS) credential
Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
Maintain registry status, in good standing by meeting all professional and college requirements.
Registration and working knowledge of following specialties: Ultrasound Physics & Instrumentation, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Abdomen and Vascular, Breast imaging.
Must have venous and arterial doppler and breast imaging experience.
Breast Ultrasound (diagnostic and screen) experience required, include interpretation of mammogram and breast MRI, knowledge of BIRADS system and breast pathology.
Demonstrated technical capability in various ultrasound systems (eg. GE and Philips)
Demonstrate effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment, assess patient capabilities and limitations and make practice adjustments as necessary
Computer keyboarding and literacy skills
Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area
Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public
Excellent work performance, punctuality and attendance.
Demonstrates values consistent with SHN's Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation
