Hi there!

We're looking for someone who is currently registered or enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution to join us as a UI/UX Summer Student. Joining our design team to help craft user-friendly and visually engaging experiences that delight both new and existing customers. As part of our small, innovative team, you'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact on our products and gain valuable work experience in Calgary's software industry.

About You

We're looking for a curious and creative UI/UX designer who is eager to learn and grow. You're excited about turning ideas into visually engaging and intuitive experiences, even if you're still developing your technical skills. Your interest in user-centered design and willingness to explore new tools and trends show your commitment to continuous learning.

You enjoy solving problems and thinking through how users interact with digital products. While you may not have all the answers yet, you're open to feedback, adaptable, and eager to refine your skills. Attention to detail and a user-first mindset guide your approach, helping you create thoughtful, effective designs.

Things You Might Do

Workhub is in a big growth phase, so you'll likely get your hands dirty in a little bit of everything. That said, here are some things you'll focus on:

Understand product specifications and user psychology Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback Create personas through user research and data Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success Develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs Find creative ways to solve UX problems Cultivate buy-in for your ideas Contribute to full designs and prototypes for developers Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends Learn to be an awesome product designer!

Requirements:

You are at a Canadian post-secondary education institution and are able to provide proof of full-time or part-time enrollment during placement Portfolio of design projects (we want to know how and why, not just what!) Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture Proficient in design software (e.g. Figma) Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript is a plus Problem-solving aptitude Attention to detail - every pixel counts Analytical mind with a business acumen Excellent communication skills
Job Types: Fixed term contract, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 4 months

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
