Job Description

Our Banking client in Toronto, Ontario is looking to hire a UI/UX Designer for a 4-months contract role with possibility for extension.

What you will do\xe2\x80\xa6

• Work with a multidisciplinary team of 8+ team members, including visual designers, accessibility experts, quality tester, Web, iOS, and Android developers.
• Craft thoughtful design solutions with an expert understanding of web and mobile design UX/UI patterns, Apple\'s HIG, Material 3 and Material 2 guidelines
• Define Design System details that include component specifications, behaviours, accessibility criteria and use case guidelines.
• Advocate for Scotia\'s Design System, promoting scalable design practices and knowledge throughout the bank.
• As a subject matter expert, you will help facilitate design contributions in demos and answer inquiries from the design and development community in Office Hours.
• Collaborate closely with designers from Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.

What you will need to succeed\xe2\x80\xa6

Must have:

• 10 + years of experience as a UI/UX designer
• 10+ years of experience designing web and mobile products.
• 10+ years of experience and expert knowledge of responsive web, iOS, and Android design patterns
• Extensive understanding and experience with Figma (to do prototypes, animations, interactions).

IMPORTANT NOTE: **We expect that the candidate will have a readily available portfolio of work (professional and/or personal) which presents the story of projects they have worked on, their role, and examples of applying a design system through web and mobile projects. If they don\'t have something to share or aren\'t allowed to for NDAs, they candidate can prepare a case study on a popular design system, taking a deep look at component structure and component documentation.

Nice to have skills:

• Previous experience with design systems preferred.
• Experience with industry prototyping tools (please list which)
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite an asset
• Working knowledge of Confluence and Jira
• Fundamental understanding of HTML/CSS
• Experience applying WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) to design.
