Spring Break Performing Arts Camp Instructor : Performing Arts Instructors are responsible for planning and implementing Imagination Theatre and Kid\xe2\x80\x99s Musical Theatre camps; ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to; participating in staff meetings; supervising groups of youth (ages ranging from 6-9); organizing camp supplies and equipment; set-up and clean-up duties as required for camps to operate smoothly. Contract Length: 2 weeks March 13-17 & March 20-24, 2023 Full-time or part-time hours available Mandatory pre-camp online and in person training:

• Friday, March 3 (evening)
• Saturday, March 4 (all day)
• Thursday March 9 (evening)
• Online \xe2\x80\x93 flexible

Wage $15.65 - $20.00 per hour, dependent upon qualifications and past experience. Description of Duties \xc2\xb7 Planning and facilitating age appropriate lesson plans and activities \xc2\xb7 Adhering to all UBC Camps\xe2\x80\x99 policy and procedures \xc2\xb7 Supervising children and youth ages 6 -9 \xc2\xb7 Implementing positive behaviour management strategies \xc2\xb7 Administering care in emergency and first aid incidents, exercising sound judgment and leadership, and deferring to supervisors when appropriate \xc2\xb7 Pre and post camp set up and clean up duties \xc2\xb7 Other duties as necessary Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 Passion for performing arts and musical theatre \xc2\xb7 Ongoing personal or professional performing arts practice \xc2\xb7 Related education or course work considered an asset \xc2\xb7 Previous experience working in a camp environment considered an asset \xc2\xb7 Relevant certifications: Performing Arts Certifications, High Five etc. considered an asset Skills and Abilities \xc2\xb7 Excellent team work and communication skills \xc2\xb7 Strong customer service and organizational skills \xc2\xb7 Outgoing and enthusiastic personality \xc2\xb7 Ability to prioritize safety, while helping to create fun and memorable experiences for camp participants \xc2\xb7 Ability to positively manage behavioral challenges \xc2\xb7 Ability to remain calm in emergency situations \xc2\xb7 Flexibility and willingness to make mid-program adjustments to accommodate the needs and abilities of the group Pre-Requisites:

• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
• Current Standard First Aid Certification with CPR-C + AED obtained before start date
• Ability to use personal cell phone for work purposes, including data required
