Job Description

Sylvan is looking for part-time tutors! As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan cirriculum and given the tools to teach in small groups, 3:1 maximum. You will provide personalized instruction in the subjects you are qualified to and wish to teach.

Evening and weekend hours available - with the opportunity to increase hours to a full-day schedule in the summer.

Duties:
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students in various subjects (maximum 3:1 ratio).
- Help students improve their academic performance and achieve their educational goals.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies and resources to enhance students' understanding of the subject matter.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students as well as Centre Director.
- Collaborate with Centre Director and teachers to support students' learning and address any challenges.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, such as a classroom or tutoring environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively explain concepts and provide feedback.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Knowledge of various teaching techniques and resources for different subjects.
- Ability to establish a positive rapport with students and create a supportive learning environment.
