S.M.A.R.T. Tutoring & Test Preparation Services

has operated as a teacher-led tutoring company committed to high-quality, curriculum-based tutoring across Simcoe County. Our mission is to support K-12 student success through one-on-one, in-person sessions delivered by qualified Ontario educators.

What S.M.A.R.T. Tutors Do:

Deliver one-on-one in-home and local library tutoring sessions (50 minutes). Plan individualized lessons to meet student goals based on the Ontario Curriculum. Communicate with families, update documentation, and maintain professional standards. Engage in professional-development, collaborate with a team of Ontario teachers and teacher candidates. Set your own schedule and tutor a minimum of 4 hours per week during weekday evenings (Mon-Fri, 4:00-8:30 PM).

Tutoring Subjects:

Kindergarten Preparation Grades 1-6: Reading, Writing, Math Grades 7-10: English, Math Grades 11-12: English, Math (Functions, Calculus, Data), Biology, Chemistry, Physics

Service Area:

We match tutors with families in and around Barrie and surrounding communities like Essa, Oro-Medonte, Springwater, and Stroud.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education or current enrolment in a B.Ed. program Transitional Certificate or Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) Certification Ability to navigate Ontario curriculum Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (upon hire) Valid driver's license and transportation Model and communicate company policies Document in Word format, respond to emails, meet deadlines. 12-month commitment. We service families who want consistency and organizations that require long-term tutoring. This is not a seasonal position.

Preferred:

Experience in tutoring or teaching multiple divisions Additional qualifications an asset Expert knowledge in tutoring subjects Time management and organization skills
