Position Overview

Maximize Customer Satisfaction, Profitability, and Sales of "Eligible Equipment" in the Medicine Hat/Burdett Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Eligible Equipment (Defined):

This position has the primarily responsibility for marketing, managing and will be paid commission on the following products:

All Lawn and Garden, Grounds Care / Landscaping, and Turf Equipment - John Deere and Non-John-Deere - including walk-behind equipment (excluding Stihl offerings which are the responsibility of the Parts Department). All Compact Construction Equipment - as permitted by John Deere or sourced from non-John-Deere suppliers. All Sub-Compact and Compact Utility Tractors (1-Series through 4 Series) All JD 5-Series Tractors. Front-end Loaders and other equipment that is compatible with to the above tractors (but excluding attachments). John Deere Wheel Loaders (e.g. 244K) and compatible equipment as permitted by John Deere.
All other equipment allocated by the Regional Sales Manager to be managed and sold by this position.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Commissions:Sell Eligible Equipment to non-farm and farm customers; including Walk-in or Cold-call agricultural customers who make their "first contact" about an item with this position. This could include customers that have been assigned to an Account Manager or Territory Manager.


The sales of 5-Series Tractors and CCE equipment are to be handled differently and, in cases where other sales staff have made a substantial effort toward making a sale to a defined account, commissions will be split 50/50 as determined by the Regional Sales Manager.Visit customer places of business (farms and non-farm) on a regular basis Prepare equipment quotes and present to customers Evaluate trades according to WT guidelines Arrange and perform equipment demonstrations as required Teach customers how to operate equipment Deliver equipment to customers as required Provide superior after-sales support Promote all dealership departments Complete sales paperwork in a timely manner Attend various John Deere and WT training courses Communicate sales activity to Regional Sales Manager Perform annual reviews with key accounts All other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager


Working Relationships

This position reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager. Additionally, this position support other sales staff with the pricing, locating etc. of Eligible Equipment.

This position is also expected to maintain and manage a customer list of key non-farm customers and work with the Customer Relationship Manager to report customer developments and account activity as required. This would include having an annual review with certain key customers to update their equipment information and to discuss their buying intentions.

Hours of Work

Western Tractor's regular business hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5pm. Extended hours during peak season run from 8 am-6 pm. In addition to regular business hours, some evening and weekend hours will be required. Scheduled Saturday shifts may also be required and are assigned at the discretion of the Sales Manager.

Requirements




Experience: Sales experience and previous John Deere agricultural equipment and product experience is an asset.

People-Focused: Team player with a friendly, outgoing, professional attitude, and a focus on customer service.

Soft Skills: Attention to Detail, strong time management, ability to work independently, and adaptability.

Valid Driver's License: You'll need this for travel to customers and between locations.###
