Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Trust Accountant for a contract position in Mississauga. The Trust Accountant will be responsible for a range of accounting duties, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial statement preparation. This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries and maintain up-to-date General Ledger transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts on a regular basis.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with client requirements.
- Prepare government remittances, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare bank transfers as necessary.
- Generate cash flow, investment, and other reports as requested by clients.
- Assist with the preparation of working papers and provide support during annual audits.
- Evaluate and handle client inquiries related to accounting matters.
- Perform day-to-day accounting duties for assigned clients with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of experience working in an office environment with a focus on accounting.
- Experience with full-cycle accounting processes.
- College or University Diploma in business administration with a focus on accounting.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.
- Strong math skills and attention to detail.
