Norquay Trusses is currently seeking
Truss Plant Lead
to join our team.
You
will report to the manufacturing and distribution location at 540 Dundas Street, Sault Ste. Marie. Norquay is a Multi-Disciplinary Engineering, Building Design and Wood Truss Manufacturing firm. We are known for quality design work, outstanding client service and we maintain a positive while flexible work environment for employees.
Using state of the art equipment and automation, our design and manufacturing teams are dedicated to providing quality products and service. Experience building trusses is a definite asset, however, we are willing to train the right individual.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Coordinate and supervise the daily production activities of assigned team members.
Ensure that production goals and objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Monitor production performance, daily maintenance, identify areas of improvement.
Ensure that production processes are carried out in accordance with established safety and quality standards.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Responsible for the End of Day duties.
Train and mentor production employees in the use of equipment and processes.
Monitor employee attendance and performance.
Enforce company polices and procedures in a consistent and fair manner.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation.
Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them in a timely manner - Advise Plant Manager.
Maintain valid Forklift Certification, operate forklifts, conduct safety circle checks.
Professional behaviour and leadership are expected as a representative of the Company.
Team player attitude is expected and required to support daily business operations.
Follow Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Ministry of Labour (MOL) guidelines for a safe work environment.
Assist with other duties as required or assigned by management and/or ownership.
Qualifications:
Interest in learning the roof truss manufacturing process
Leadership experience is an asset
Experience in construction, manufacturing or warehousing an asset
Knowledge or experience in framing is an asset
Experience working with hand and power tools
Must be comfortable working in a noisy and fast paced environment
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Basic math skills; ability to read a tape measure; basic measurement calculations
Basic computer skills
Must have excellent safety record and steel toe boots
