Truss Designer\xe2\x80\x93 Residential Construction KOTT Inc. is one of Ontario\xe2\x80\x99s largest suppliers of products and services for residential construction. Our Design & Engineering team is looking for an experienced full-time Designer of wood-frame roof trusses for residential construction. What\xe2\x80\x99s the opportunity? KOTT trusses literally put a roof over people\xe2\x80\x99s heads. In this role, you will design trusses based on customer-provided house plans, ensuring they are Building Code-compliant, value engineered to be cost-effective, and in accordance with project timelines. Your sound product knowledge and technical expertise will be at the heart of your success, and you will have daily opportunities to demonstrate that you are a team player with a customer service focus. Your day-to-day \xc2\xb7 Design roof trusses using Mitek software \xc2\xb7 Identify and flag any design issues or discrepancies noticed during the truss design process \xc2\xb7 Communicate with KOTT Sales, Production and Installation teams to complete estimates in accordance with project timelines \xc2\xb7 Track work assignments using KOTT\xe2\x80\x99s Enterprise Resource Management software What you need to succeed Experience & Education \xc2\xb7 5 years experience designing Trusses for Production \xc2\xb7 Experience working on a construction job site is considered an asset \xc2\xb7 A Civil Engineering Technologist or Architectural Technologist Diploma is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered Skills & Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Experience designing Trusses using Mitek design software is required. \xc2\xb7 Experience with specifying truss hardware including hangers, bearing enhancers, tie downs etc is considered an asset \xc2\xb7 Experience designing beams using CSD (isBeam) is considered an asset \xc2\xb7 Strong general computer skills required, including experience with MS Office \xc2\xb7 Ability to read and interpret building plans and drawings is mandatory \xc2\xb7 Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code \xc2\xb7 Fluency in English is required; fluency in French is an asset \xc2\xb7 Good verbal and written communications skills \xc2\xb7 Good interpersonal skills and a team player Why join KOTT?
