Job Description

We are looking to add a full time Truck & Transport Mechanic and/or apprentice to our ever growing business! We are looking for a motivated individual who loves a challenge, problem solving and working as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

Duties will include:

-Install, service and repair mechanical components on an array of equipment including but not limited to tractor trailers, off high-way equipment and forestry equipment.

-Perform diagnostic procedures on most makes and models

-Trouble shooting hydraulic, electrical, fuel and cooling systems and diesel engines

-Testing machines to ensure proper performance after repair

-Perform regular preventative maintenance on a fleet

-Perform vehicle repairs as indicated on work order, complete reports and maintaining work orders

-Maintain a time card

-Installation of non-mechanical parts including tires, wipers, and other accessories

-Shop maintenance

-Communicating with Parts Clerks to effectively manage productivity, repairs and inventory.

-Work as part of a multi-functional team, where tasks and duties can be beyond that of a typical automotive technician

-Ability to weld is an asset

-Experience will be compensated

Qualifications:

- Licensed Mechanic or Technician an asset, experience is necessary

-Excellent diagnostic skills and willingness to learn and develop

-Ability to work independently and with others

-Attention to detail

-Dependable and punctual

-Ability to lift up to 23kg (50lb)

-First Aid/WHIMIS (training available)

-Fork lift operator certificate, is an asset, training is available

-Valid Drivers License; must be insurable (Class 1, Class 3 or Air Brake Endorsement an asset)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $15.70-$35.00 per hour
