TRUCK DRIVERS (CLASS 1 - LONG HAUL) GIANT MINE BACKFILL PROJECT At Nahanni we are cold weather and remote location construction experts. ABOUT THE POSITION Nahanni Construction Ltd. is accepting resumes for Class 3 and Class 1 Truck Drivers to work at the Giant Mine Site in Yellowknife, NT. The successful candidates will work on a rotational schedule based in a work camp environment. The Job will start out with a couple of rotations of underground work and then transfer into site services when production starts. The rotation is tentatively a three (3) weeks on / three (3) weeks off schedule. The rotation is subject to change based on organizational requirements. Nahanni is an open-shop Contractor that provides competitive pay and benefits. The Truck Drivers will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of the following equipment:
- Pulling Triaxle and Tandem Trailer to float equipment and supplies
- Tractor and Cement Powder Tankers (Super B Tankers an option as well)
- Vac Truck, Water Truck and Cement Mixer Truck
- Safely and effectively operate equipment
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure both the safety of those around and the integrity of the equipment
- Perform daily safety inspections on designated equipment to ensure that it is safe to operate
- Effectively communicate with other team members
- Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience driving and knowledge of operating Class 3 trucks
- Long haul drivers need a minimum of 2 years highway experience and will need to provide a drivers abstract
- Experience working in an industrial setting
- Must be self-motivated and a self-starter
- Ability to work in a team based, safety-oriented environment
