Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have their D and or A-Z Licence and will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving practices, heavy equipment operation, and basic automotive repair skills.

Responsibilities



Operate a commercial truck to transport goods to various locations. Load and unload freight using forklifts and other heavy equipment as necessary. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours worked and mileage driven. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise. Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on the truck as needed to ensure optimal performance. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving on public roads. Safely operate company trucks to deliver cabinetry, millwork, and related materials to project sites Load and unload materials, ensuring all items are secured and handled with care Assist in warehouse or site operations when required Keep accurate delivery logs and documentation

Qualifications



Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required. Experience in freight transportation and logistics preferred. Proficiency in operating forklifts and heavy equipment is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic automotive repairs. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently. Must have a clean driving record with no major violations. Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy. Valid D or A-Z driver's license in good standing Clean driver's abstract Previous experience driving commercial vehicles or handling deliveries for construction/trades preferred Ability to lift and move heavy materials Strong communication and organizational skills Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
