Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour

About the Role

We are currently hiring a Truck Driver / Counter Sales Representative on behalf of our client in Nanaimo, BC.

This is a dual-role position that combines driving and delivery duties with sales and customer service responsibilities at the branch counter. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, organized, and customer-oriented, capable of balancing warehouse support, deliveries, and counter sales with professionalism and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Delivery Duties:

Complete daily deliveries and pick-ups according to the branch schedule.

Safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials.

Conduct pre-trip inspections and complete vehicle maintenance checklists.

Ensure all delivery paperwork and signatures are accurate and submitted on time.

Follow transportation regulations and company safety protocols.

Report mechanical or maintenance issues promptly to supervisors.

Support warehouse operations (order picking, receiving, and stock placement) when not driving.

Sales & Customer Service Duties:

Receive and process customer orders at the counter, by phone, or email.

Prepare quotes and follow up on sales and delivery timelines.

Recommend alternative or promotional products to support sales growth.

Coordinate with warehouse, credit, and purchasing teams to resolve issues.

Maintain current product knowledge and communicate technical details effectively.

Assist with order picking, packing, and restocking when required.

Participate in trade shows or special events as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

Assist with physical inventory counts and reconciliations.

Maintain the showroom and counter area in a clean, organized manner.

Support administrative and reception tasks as needed.

Provide product documentation and Mill Test Reports to customers.

Participate in the company Health & Safety Program and complete required training.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Strong multitasking and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Physically fit and able to lift, walk, and climb as needed.

Valid Class 3 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.

Computer literate with good math and attention to detail.

Forklift experience or willingness to be trained.

Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.

Education & Experience

Secondary School Diploma or College Diploma in Sales, Business, or related field.

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Class 3 truck driver.

Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, inside sales, or warehouse/counter sales.

A combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
