Salary

$60,000 to 86,000 annually (To be negotiated), 40 to 50 hours per Week

Responsibilities and Tasks



Professionalism in customer service Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy Load and unload goods Operate and drive Class 1 or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform brake adjustments Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption


Credentials/Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses

Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Defensive Driving Course, Driver's License (Class 1 or A), Forklift Operator Certification, Professional Driver Improvement Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate



Documentation knowledge

Accident or incident reports, Bill of lading, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Trip reports



Type of trucking and equipment

Refrigerated, Tractor-trailer



Communication systems experience

Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, Trip recorder (on-board computer)



Transportation/travel experience

Long-haul



Security and safety

Valid passport, Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test



Transportation/travel information

Drive manual transmission vehicle, Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel internationally, Willing to travel overnight
