Job Summary - Class 1 Driver (Local/City Routes)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled

Class 1 Truck Driver

to join the KTX Transport team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the

safe and efficient transportation of freight across local and city routes

, returning home daily. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle freight with care.

Class 1 Drivers will also be expected to perform basic vehicle inspections and ensure full compliance with transportation regulations.

Duties

Operate

Class 1 commercial vehicle

for scheduled local/city deliveries. Conduct

pre-trip and post-trip inspections

to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Load and unload freight (forklift or pallet jack operation may be required). Maintain accurate records of driving hours, routes, and delivery information. Communicate clearly with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any route issues. Follow all

traffic laws and company safety procedures

. Perform basic maintenance or report mechanical issues as needed.

Requirements

Valid

Class 1 Driver's License

with

Air Brake Endorsement

(required). Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles or heavy equipment preferred. Understanding of freight handling and transportation safety procedures. Forklift certification is an asset but not required. Strong time management skills and the ability to meet delivery deadlines. Must be able to pass a

background check

and

drug screening

. Dependable and flexible, with a strong work ethic. Willing to work flexible daytime hours (no overnight/long-haul trips*).

: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday

: Thursdays

Hours

: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM (may vary depending on delivery volume*)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
