Role Summary
Reporting to the Shop Foreman and Service Supervisor, the Truck and Transport Technician will be responsible for performing vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs. Based out of our truck centre in Brackley, this role involves a variety of automotive work.
Starting wage:
$25-$30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Hours:
Flexible, Monday - Friday.
What You'll Do
Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including all aspects of vehicle repair and upkeep.
Diagnose and repair vehicle issues such as engine problems, electrical malfunctions, and brake system failures.
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues or safety concerns.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify and troubleshoot vehicle faults.
Complete repairs efficiently and effectively, ensuring the highest level of workmanship.
Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance performed.
Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding vehicle conditions and recommended repairs.
Stay up to date with the latest automotive technology, industry trends, and training.
Maintain an organized and safe work environment, including daily shop and tool maintenance.
Work both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks.
Adhere to and support all safety requirements and quality standards outlined in the PEI Occupational Health and Safety Act, the PEI Occupational Health and Safety General Regulations, and BJ's Truck Centre Safety Management System.
Use your experience to identify health and safety deficiencies and support management in implementing solutions, or report to management when required.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
Second or third-year apprentice required.
Red Seal licensed technician considered an asset.
Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
