About the Opportunity



We are seeking a skilled

Truck & Petroleum Tank Mechanic

to support the repair, maintenance, and development of company and customer trucks and fuel storage and dispensing equipment. This role focuses on petroleum tank systems, fuel trailers, pumping equipment, and mechanical components across our fleet (Kenworth/Cummins tractors, Super-B fuel trailers, tridem body jobs, and related assets).

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-driven, and able to work independently. Work orders may be provided verbally or in writing, but the successful candidate must be able to assess, diagnose, and execute tasks with minimal supervision.

This position is a full-time permanent role.

Key Responsibilities



Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and inspections on petroleum storage tanks, fuel trailers, pumping equipment, and truck-mounted systems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and fuel-handling components. Pipefit, plumb, and install product lines according to specifications. Assist with fabrication and modification of fuel system components (welding/fitting experience an asset). Follow OH&S regulations and TR Petroleum safety procedures at all times. Work efficiently to meet scheduling and turnaround requirements. Communicate hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents promptly. Operate tools, equipment, and material-handling equipment safely and effectively. Support continuous improvement efforts across the maintenance and tank service division.

Qualifications & Assets



Mechanical experience with heavy trucks, fuel systems, or industrial equipment required. Experience working with petroleum tanks, pumping systems, or pressure-rated equipment considered a strong asset. Welding/fabrication experience (CWB or Journeyperson ticket is an asset). Aluminum welding experience considered an asset. Class 1A driver's licence is an asset. Ability to read drawings, follow specifications, and complete work independently. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Must be safety-oriented and comfortable working around fuel-handling equipment.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
