Job Overview

AQUARICA Tropical Fish, one of the premier aquatics stores in Atlantic Canada, is looking to hire customer service representatives. The ideal candidate is a team player with fish keeping experience who wants to share their knowledge of fish keeping with other hobbyists.

Main responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Offering guidance on choosing livestock, fish health, and algae control. Advice on setting up aquariums, related equipment, water quality, decor, fish food, and fish disease. Catching livestock as requested. Testing water parameters and providing feedback to customers. Answering phone calls. Help maintain special order books. Calls to customers to advise of arrival of special orders. Handling Transactions including operating point of sale system and processing returns.

Livestock Maintenance:

Maintaining the cleanliness of tanks, displays, by performing water changes and algae scrapes. Feed livestock. Identify sick fish and administer treatment. Performing minor repairs on equipment like pumps and filters.

General Store Operations:

Ensuring tanks and displays are well-maintained and visually appealing. Accepting inventory and stocking shelves. Keeping the store clean and tidy. Identify dry stock items required to re-stock shelves. Entering completed tasks into the daily activity tracking sheet. End of day reconciliation of cash and debit credit totals.

Requirements:

Experience in fish keeping and aquarium maintenance is essential. Previous experience in customer service is an asset. Attentive to details. Maintain a professional demeanor. Collaborate with team members to resolve issues as they arise. Strong communication skills, especially in English. Ability to analyze customer needs and provide effective solutions. Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills. A positive attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Strive in a clean and tidy environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 40 per week
