What we do
We are a singles lifestyle company with a TWIST! Our events are large-scale (40 or more people) singles mixers for professionals, with a unique and modern touch. Guests at our events use the Secret RSVP app to view profiles of other event guests during the event and add those they are interested to meet to their secret guest list. The app then sends everyone an invitation to smaller groups they are "secretly" connected with for fun, interactive activities! The activities take away the edge and allow everyone to be relaxed and comfortable. Events usually run on weeknight or weekend evenings for about 5+ hours including training and event set up/tear down.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has at least 2-3 years' experience in hosting events or trivia, and/or facilitating large groups of people. Experience hosting singles events or ice-breakers is considered an asset. You should have outstanding organizational skills, are flexible and creative, have great customer service attitude, be comfortable speaking to large groups of people, and most of all, be passionate about helping people feel welcome and comfortable. You are proactive and can manage change on the fly. You should be comfortable using technology to run the events, i.e. checking people in as they arrive, helping them with minor log-in issues, and creating a warm and welcoming experience. Regular paid training is provided. Public speaking is key, as is fluency in spoken English. Experience in posting on social media channels, such as Facebook and Instagram is desirable.
Description of this role
The successful candidate may help to plan events, including coming up with creative activities that will encourage mixing and mingling. On the day of the event, you will greet and check-in guests as they arrive, bring everyone together for ice-breaker activities, explain and run activities in small groups, and help everyone feel comfortable. Additional paid hours may be available for other related activities that align with your experience, e.g. help with event planning, sourcing for venues, social media, etc.
Your hourly rate will commensurate with your experience.
