Founded in 1979, Columbia International College (CIC) is the largest boarding high school in Canada. During our 46 years of history, parents from over 120 countries have placed their children in CIC' care.

CIC offers the Total Care Education System to support students to achieve their goal of getting into a post-secondary institution of their choice. Our Total Care Education provides services that can support international students to meet their Academic, Social, Emotional and Physical needs.

Job Summary:

The position of the

Trips Chaperone

/

Summer Camp Employee

is responsible for promoting and demonstrating the philosophy and attitude of Total Care within the all Summer Camp events and trips.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supporting large-scale summer camp events; leading or supporting evening and weekend trips.

Interacting proactively with participants between breaks and leisure times.

Taking attendance during trips.

Ensuring participants supervision and safety during Summer Camp Programming.

Possibility of supervising a 4-day overnight Eastern Canada trip

Airport pickups and drop offs.

Communicating with supervisor about needs or concerns.

Maintaining a professional, positive, and helpful attitude.

Maintaining an organized calendar of all scheduled shifts.

Adhering to CIC Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

May be needed to lead or support in-school activity classes if needed.

Qualifications:

Relevant work experience with youth in a camp, recreation or educational environments

Provide a Vulnerable Sector check (issued to a maximum of 6 months ago)

Detailed and task oriented

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Strong communication, prioritization, and time management skills

Able to work as part of a team

Able to multi-task and work under pressure

Multilingual is an asset

Hours of Work:

Required to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight trips Flexibility is required
