As a Trip Assistant, you're not just helping freight move -- you're the behind-the-scenes hero keeping our operations running smoothly across road, rail, and sea. What You'll Do:
You'll be the heartbeat of multimodal transit planning, working closely with drivers, terminals, and key partners like Oceanex, CN, and CP to ensure everything stays on track. From real-time shipment tracking to making sure our drivers have everything they need to succeed, you'll tackle operational challenges head-on and help deliver excellence every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities:
Keep safety and operational procedures top of mind in all you do
Collaborate with business partners and customers to keep freight moving
Maximize equipment use and avoid unnecessary costs through smart planning
Support multimodal transit across trucks, vessels, and rails
Help plan cost-effective, efficient transit routes
Keep drivers informed and equipped with all paperwork and trip details
Track shipments, troubleshoot delays, and work with carriers to keep things moving
Take care of admin tasks like billing, RV creation, and reporting
Identify opportunities to improve and share them with the team
Jump into meetings, training, and team huddles to stay aligned
Help plan driver vacation coverage and update leadership on transit visibility
Support the Multimodal Operations Manager as business needs evolve
What You Bring to the Table:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Confidence in making decisions and handling changing priorities
Solid time management and multitasking abilities
A proactive mindset and strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and internal teams
