FRONTLINE STAFF WILL RECEIVE $22.50 - $25.50 AN HOUR, WITH FULL MEDICAL BENEFITS AFTER PROBATIONARY PERIOD!Walk of Grace Residential Services Inc., is a family owned and operated residential home for children and adults with developmental disabilities, and have a combined experience of over 30 years in the field, of assisting those with dual diagnosis. Walk of Grace (www.walkofgrace.ca) has five residential programs and a day program in the east end of Ottawa and is looking to take on new staff members!Our team is committed to finding those who enjoy making positive changes in children's lives, while providing guidance and support to enhance the child's life. As a Treatment Counsellor, you will find yourself working actively in the community and will gain a sense of achievement in the work you complete. Working at Walk of Grace Residential Services will help you establish meaningful lifelong relationships with children, youths, adult residents, and families.The philosophy behind Walk of Grace Residential Services Inc., is to focus on building skills, in the areas of; communication, hygiene, daily living, social and leisure skills through the principals of learning within a positive behaviour support framework. As an employee at Walk of Grace, you will facilitate a loving, safe family home away from home for each resident who is entrusted into our care.Our team is currently looking for full time and part time Child and Adult Care Worker's, who are comfortable working overnight awake shifts.Daily requirements of the job may include:

  • Completing overnight documentation and clinical data
  • Completing bedroom checks to ensure the safety of the residents
  • Resolving conflict issues
  • Writing detailed reports for case management
  • Maintaining cleanness of the home
  • Preparing meals
  • Implementing Behavior Support Programs
  • De-escalating crisis situations
  • Undertaking administrative tasks and maintaining proper data collection
  • Mentoring, coaching, and supporting individuals
  • Encouraging positive behavior
  • Taking into account the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each individual
  • Teaching new behaviours and skills through the use of Applied Behavior Analysis techniques and positive behavior supports
  • Increasing and refining the knowledge of the parent/guardian, by offering simple programs and strategies
  • Providing a safe and flourishing household which will protect one's cultural identity, sexuality, beliefs and values while uplifting their self

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff members are provided with protective equipment that must be worn in the programs. A temperature gage is conducted prior to staff coming on shift. Sanitary practices are implemented to the homes to ensure disinfection.
