The Treasury Analyst - Forecasting & Analytics plays a strategic role in supporting the organization's financial health by driving robust cash flow forecasting, advanced financial modelling, and insightful analysis. This role demands a strong command of Microsoft Excel and treasury systems to analyze trends, optimize liquidity, and support data-informed decision-making across the organization. Reporting to the Treasury Manager, this role is ideal for someone with a passion for numbers, financial modelling, and process automation. This role is based on-site at our Calgary (YYC) or Edmonton (YEG) office.

A Day in the Life:




The duties of the Treasury Analyst include:

Develop, maintain, and improve short-term, medium-term, and long-term cash flow forecasts, incorporating operational, financing, and investing activities. Perform ongoing variance analysis between forecasted and actual cash flows, identifying key drivers and recommending improvements. Build advanced Excel-based forecasting tools and dashboards to provide visibility and accuracy in liquidity planning. Analyze historical cash flow trends to support the evolution of forecasting methodologies and liquidity strategy. Construct robust financial models to support strategic treasury decisions, working capital planning, and capital allocation. Conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of FX rate changes, interest rate shifts, and funding strategies. Analyze merchant fees, processing timelines, chargeback trends, and other key metrics to improve visibility and reduce cost leakage. Identify and lead process improvements and automation initiatives across treasury workflows and reporting. Support the implementation and optimization of Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and ERP integrations Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory standards, and audit requirements. Maintain comprehensive documentation to support internal/external audits and SOX compliance, where applicable. Assist in the development and maintenance of treasury policy documentation and internal procedures.

while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:

Education:

+ A post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field is preferred.
+ CPA, CFA, or CTP designation (or actively pursuing one) is considered an asset.

Experience:

+ Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in treasury, FP&A, corporate finance, or another analytical financial role.
+ Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP), banking platforms, and Treasury Management Systems (TMS).
+ Demonstrated experience in cash forecasting, financial modelling, and large data set analysis.

Skills and Abilities:

+ Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
+ Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management and reporting.
+ Well-organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate financial concepts to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

+ Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
+ Ability to maintain a valid Passport to accommodate work travel.
+ Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
