This posting is for travel nurse positions across British Columbia. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As an RN in the ICU, you will be responsible for monitoring critically ill patients, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role requires excellent clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
Duties
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
Monitor vital signs and assess patients' conditions regularly, making necessary adjustments to care plans as needed.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Participate in case management activities to coordinate patient care across various departments.
Assist with phlebotomy procedures as required, ensuring proper techniques are followed for patient safety.
Skills
Strong background in patient care with experience in ICU or critical care settings preferred.
2 years of experience working in an Intensive Care Unit
Knowledge of case management processes to facilitate effective patient transitions between different levels of care.
Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not required.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
