Summary
As a
Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
in the
Emergency Department
in
British Columbia
, you will provide high-quality, timely care in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Reporting to the Nurse Manager and adhering to
BCCNM
standards, you'll use core skills--medication administration, assessment, and phlebotomy--to care for patients in critical situations. With
PALS
and
TNCC
certifications and experience in acute care, you'll help ensure best practices in trauma and pediatric care. Strong communication and adaptability are essential as you collaborate across BC's healthcare system to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality emergency care using advanced nursing knowledge and clinical judgment
Administer medications and perform phlebotomy per established protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams using
Cerner
and
Epic
EMR systems for effective case management
Communicate compassionately with patients and families while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Apply
PALS
and
TNCC
training to manage acute trauma, pediatric emergencies, and pain control
Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
in British Columbia (BCCNM registration required)
Minimum
2 years of recent experience
in an Emergency Department or acute care setting
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) -
preferred
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) -
preferred
BLS (Basic Life Support)
- required
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- preferred
Proficient in
medication administration
,
phlebotomy
, and emergency nursing procedures
Skilled in using
Cerner
and
Epic
electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Excellent
communication, collaboration, and time management
skills in high-pressure environments
Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
required
Proof of up-to-date immunizations
, including COVID-19, influenza, and other provincially mandated vaccines
