About Us

Based at either our Toronto or Winnipeg head office, the role of the Product Development Specialist, Travel Product,, is to support the procurement, promotion, sale and optimization of CAA\'s travel product line and associated partnerships. Working with numerous cross functional groups and business systems this person leverages a background in travel sales and their strong awareness of travel suppliers and products to maintain and enhance CAA\'s collection of travel products. This role often works to support customer service issues and connect external partners with internal business units with the intent of driving sales growth and value to the CAA Membership.

Position Details

What You Will Do

  • Assist the Manager, with the development, marketing and overall administration of travel programs and campaigns for sale through all channels including retail stores, the call center and the CAA CCG\'s websites.
  • Assist the Manager in the identification of gaps in travel product offering, sourcing new product partners and making recommendations to Director, Travel Product and Travel Technology.
  • Under the direction of the Manager, Travel Product assist with identification and optimization of relevant travel products (current and new) and services that add revenue to the organization and value to our members/customers.
  • Responsible for ensuring CAA Vacations, preferred suppliers and CAA proprietary products remain top-of-mind with frontline sales Associates by planning and facilitating training / webinars and supporting job aids.
  • Work with Echannel to ensure alignment of product for both website and promotions on site to work toward meeting sales objectives.
  • Identify store sales and Member support opportunities by using analytical skills and system data. Work with Manager and CX management team to close gaps.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of CCG internal and consumer events
  • Using existing suppliers or sourcing new partners, support the Manager, Travel Product in the development of new product lines, which address market demand recognized though GAP analysis.
  • Support the continual development of new and existing Member Benefits and ensuring CAA associates are provided and have convenient access to supplier promotions and sales job aids.
  • Under the guidance of the Manager, Travel Product, work closely with CCG preferred partners, CX and Marketing to ensure directional selling is aligned with product strategy.
  • Work with CX and Marketing to insure, accuracy of product offerings for various channels as per partner agreements.
  • Prepare and maintain regular sales reports for preferred CAA suppliers or as needed to support operational, marketing and sales departmental requirements.
  • Assist Manager, Travel Product with maintaining a high-level working relationship with preferred travel partners.
  • Participate in supplier presentations, product launches and after-hour events.
  • Work closely with marketing department to support understanding of CAA\'s Travel products and the fulfillment of marketing requests.
  • Coordinate with marketing department to ensure effective roll out of travel product including sourcing product, using templates to facilitate proofing and liaison with partners to ensure accuracy of submissions.
  • Under the supervision of the Manager, Travel Product, select product and pricing for marketing tactics including but not limited to direct mail, website, emails etc.
  • Actively participate in collaborative team campaign update meetings, including participating in pre and post campaign analysis briefings.
  • Update managers/stores on sales and campaign accomplishments for all travel products.
Who you are :
  • Previous Travel Retail experience and in-depth knowledge of travel products, destinations and customer service
  • TICO certified
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of Galileo, Galileo Vacations and Travelport Cruises
  • Familiarity with CAA supplier travel resources (including online supplier booking engines and promotions applications) and understanding of the benefits of CAA products & services would be an asset
  • Customer service experience
