Job Title: Travel Coordinator (Temporary)





Reporting directly to the Travel Lead, the Travel Coordinator is responsible for organizing travel for the Eskay Creek site, overseeing flights and ground transport, making key decisions for smooth operations and quick responses to disruptions and ensuring efficient and safe travel in a dynamic environment.




This position will be an 8-month contract position, working Wednesday through Sunday.




Responsibilities (including but not limited to):





Travel Coordination and Booking




Coordinate transportation arrangements, encompassing a variety of modes such as exclusive charters, commercial airlines, standard bus services, vehicle rentals, and other alternatives as necessary. Efficiently manage travel requests and promptly enter them into the booking system. Coordinate with contractors on logistic requirements to/from site. Liaise with transportation services within the northern communities.

Stakeholder Communication and Support




Function as a central point of contact for inquiries, issues, or concerns related to travel, offering comprehensive assistance and support. Inform the Senior Leadership Team, Camp Services, and gate security about travel diversions, delays, or interruptions, keeping affected stakeholders well-informed. Monitor coach (bus) journeys to/from Terrace, providing updates to site management and Camp Services. Be available to handle travel-related emergencies beyond the standard working hours.

Compliance and Documentation




Manage the necessary paperwork for compliance with Drug & Alcohol clearance for sub-contractors, a mandatory prerequisite for accessing the site. Establish and sustain current employee profiles and rosters as instructed by the Human Resources Team.

Process Improvement and General Responsibilities




Actively engage in continuous updates to systems and travel processes. Maintain a high standard of service, confidentiality, and consistency to ensure the safe and timely execution of operations on each "travel day." All other duties as reasonably assigned.



The Ideal Candidate




Education / Qualifications:




Grade 12 High school Diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience / Skills




2+ years of experience in a travel-related experience is required, and FIFO experience is an asset. Exceptional administration skills and ability to learn new systems. Strong MS Office experience, including MS Teams, SharePoint, Excel and Word. Experience with travel management systems such as Nomadis software or similar. Work well under pressure and within time restraints. Organization, planning and project management skills. High level of attention to detail, timing and performance. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Analytical thinking with strong decision-making skills. Identify and mitigate or elevate safety-related concerns. Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters Effective team player who can jump in wherever is needed Strong interpersonal and reasoning skills, with proven problem-solving abilities Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as with others



Work Location & Conditions





This is a fully remote opportunity, with periodic travel to the Eskay Creek mine site and the Vancouver Corporate Office possibly required from time to time. Additionally, the job is in a fast paced, and at times stressful working environment, with having to manage multiple competing priorities.




Compensation





The expected hourly range for this position is CA$30-38/h, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
